Overview

Espresso is a native macOS application developed by Bad Gateway Limited. We built Espresso with privacy as a core principle. The app operates entirely on your device and does not require an internet connection to function (except for license validation).

Data We Collect

None. Espresso does not collect any personal information, usage data, or analytics.

Specifically, we do not collect:

• •Your code, files, or any content on your computer
• •Keystrokes or screen content
• •Usage statistics or telemetry
• •Personal information or identifiers
• •Crash reports (unless you explicitly send them)

How Espresso Works

Espresso monitors process metadata (process names and CPU usage) to detect when AI agents or long-running tasks are active. This information is:

• •Processed entirely locally on your device
• •Never transmitted to any server
• •Not stored or logged
• •Used only to determine whether to prevent system sleep

License Validation

When you activate your license, Espresso communicates with our licensing server to validate your purchase. This process transmits only:

• •Your license key
• •A device identifier (to manage your license activations)

This data is handled by our payment processor, Creem, according to their privacy policy. We do not have access to your payment information.

Third-Party Services

Espresso uses Creem for payment processing and license management. When you purchase a license, Creem handles the transaction. Please refer to Creem's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle your data.

Data Storage

Any preferences or settings you configure in Espresso are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS preferences storage. This data never leaves your device.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing to delete, export, or modify. Your data stays on your device, under your control.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
